Nora L. Neal, 93, of Dawsonville passed away Friday July 21, 2017 at The Bell Minor Home following a period of declining health.
Born April 7, 1924 to the late Earl and Mae Roland, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, Nora was formerly employed at Burlington Industries, the Dawson County School System and the Dawson County Day Care Center. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and friends. Nora was also preceded in death by her husband, Rainey H. Neal, Sr.; son in law, Thomas Mote; sisters, Geraldine Roland, Lorene Ayers, Bobbie Duncan, Betty Waters; and a brother, Dewey Roland.
Surviving are her children, Kathy Mote, Dawsonville, Judy and Carroll Walls, Dawsonville, Rainey H., Jr. and Rosalyn Neal, Flowery Branch, Joyce Neal, Dawsonville, Danny Neal, Oakwood; grandchildren, Tony and Cammie Neal, Adriene and Kevin MacKinnon, Melissa Moore, Jason Mote, Joey and Leslie Walls, Ansley Mote and Craig Maxfield; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Imogene Bryant, Cumming; brothers and sister in law, Jimmy Roland, Dahlonega, Billy and Annie Roland, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday July 23, 2017 at 3 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tony Neal will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
