Obituary for Carol Jean Gordon

Carol Jean Gordon
Carol Jean (Murray) Gordon, 67, of Dawsonville, was made perfect and complete, lacking in nothing on December 4, 2017, when she passed away surrounded by the people who love her most in this world. Born in Beaver Falls, PA to Edward and Emma Murray, she resided in Lawrenceville, GA for 37 years, then recently settled in Dawsonville, GA with her husband Jerry. Carol was loyal, generous, loving, wise, resourceful and creative; a mother, wife, teacher and friend. She loved her family and poured her life into ensuring that each member thrived in their own. She was a great example of faithfulness—in the workplace, with her friends, organizations to which she dedicated her time and, most importantly, her relationship with God. She taught Sunday school and ESL, sang in the choir, volunteered her time to others and worked a full time job; but, she let nothing come before loving her family, preparing home cooked meals, dominating at scrabble or raising her children and letting them know their value and worth. Her children arise and call her blessed. Carol had varied interests including musicals, cooking shows, sci-fi and reading; piano, baking, sewing and creating; playing board games, word games and trivia; bible study, the power of prayer, hymns and advocating for lives of unborn children. Carol is preceded in death by her son, Douglas Gordon. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jerry Gordon, her daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Andy Kinsey of Dawsonville, GA, her son and daughter-in-law, John and Kimberly Gordon of Lithia, FL, and her daughter and son-in-law Katie and Corey Hill of Hoschton, GA. Carol was also blessed with 10 grandchildren: Johnathan Gordon, Isabelle, Elliott and Anderson Kinsey, Rylee and Bellamy Gordon and Lorelei, Jack, Felicity and Sloan Hill. Those who know and love Carol are grieved by the loss of her life in this world; but, we are comforted in knowing that she will live forever in eternity with her heavenly father, and that one day we will be reunited. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 The family will receive friends Thursday December 7, 2017 from 12 noon until 2 at Bearden Funeral Home with interment to follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
